Beginning Monday, August 9th, there will be a new parking procedure for our office building. All cars will be valet parked from the front entrance on Telegraph Avenue. There will be a $2 fee for parking.

California is in the middle of the worst whooping cough epicemic in 50 years. This illness causes prolonged coughing fits which end in a characteristic "whoop" noise, often associated with near-vomiting. The illness usually lasts 3 to 6 weeks. It can be fatal in young infants less than six months old. So far, as of August 20, 2010, eight California infants have died from it this year.

Merck, the company that makes Zostavax (the shingles, or herpes zoster, vaccine), has told us that that our next order of this vaccine will be delayed. We don't know when it will arrive, but we are anticipating a shipment in November or December. We will update this message when we receive it.
